EPIC HPC AI Resilience project, a groundbreaking initiative focused on pushing the boundaries of
sustainable high-performance computing. We are not just building computational infrastructure—we are
setting new standards for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. By combining the latest in
AI-driven technologies with state-of-the-art HPC systems, we aim to achieve a zero-carbon,
zero-waste, and energy-positive status, producing more energy than we consume.
Our
AI-driven cooling and heating systems intelligently adapt to real-time demands, significantly reducing
energy consumption while maximizing operational efficiency. This core innovation enables us to lead the
charge in Europe’s effort to reduce carbon emissions, aligning with the EU’s ambitious digital and green
transformation goals.
A cornerstone of the PERTON EPIC HPC AI Resilience project
is the AI Factory—an integrated facility within our center dedicated to developing cutting-edge AI
solutions that drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and performance. The AI Factory serves as a
research and development hub for HPC parks throughout Europe, offering tools, methodologies, and best
practices to optimize HPC operations across the continent.
By using advanced AI models, the AI
Factory will create solutions that predict energy demands, optimize resource use, and ensure sustainable
operations. This not only enhances the performance of our center but also supports Europe’s broader
digital and green transitions. The AI Factory is a platform for innovation, designed to foster
collaboration among Europe’s top HPC centers, ensuring that our breakthroughs benefit the entire
